Soooo we have already uploaded some videos about the previous project (that we won
) now in this little project (well not that little) we recreated a tank that allows you to activate the movement using the wiimote and its sensors.
The wiimote is connected directly to the PC using the wiiflash Api and Flex 3 (yes already tested on the new Flex 4). There in Flex 3 we programmed an algorithm that eliminates many of the noise produced by the movement of the hand (yes at least our hands are not perfect yet).
Then again in Flex, the algorithm translates all that into an array of bits that is pulled to the outside world using an I/O interface connected directly to the parallel port (hamm yep the parallel port is still useful these days).
A power part allows the interface to activate or deactivate relays that control the position of the tank. Now here we go, some videos for all of you folks!
The good “Sierra” (yep that’s his name is the electronics master beind this, we put the logic and programming part) the asb-labs team is acquiring a new member ![]()
Here ya go people, two minutes of tank movement plus a little explanation of the interface used!
-
Another close up to the movement plus the chicken sound!
Explanation of the interface while the control is being held, plus the sound chicken!
Final movement in the presentation (take a closer look to Sierra’s clothes he has not had any shower :p )
Now, this guy is called “the crazy” he attemps to explain what is going to happen, and yes THE TANK SHOOTS!!!
Thanx for stepping by!, leave some comments folks… ![]()
