Starting with the text editor could be simply, because of the classes already created such as the TextFormat class which almost do everything but as i mentioned in some forums the problem is the IMG tag. not sure but it seems that flash player cannot handle pretty well the IMG tag, previous versions of flash (flash
could have a better hemmm well you know a better way to access the IMG tag, this version of actionScript (AS3) lets you add your assets but they are loaded as a Bitmap (yeah a bitmap), i would have preffer a Sprite instead. but hey is good news it actually works
So in my opinion which would be great options? here you have a list:
- images should load at its original size, most of the textEditors wokr this way, yeah i am a fast guy, just pick my pic, and press add!!! no more options like width, height and stuff you don’t care about, textEditors are design to EDIT text!!!
- Once the image is loaded, we should easily resize the image, in the most intuitive possible way!! not by opening again tons of options
- Video in paragraphs? yeah why not? as mentioned before images are made to be loaded at its original size, i mean you don’t create a 100px per 100px to then resize it at 50px per 67px do you? the same happens with videos and flash movies, the should load at its original size, want your users to read and watch? or just read??
It has been quite a challenge, first because it seems that IE 6 doesn´t handle listeners?!?!? wait wait wait IE??? yes that’s strange, i test the same Flex app in Opera and it worx as expected, but if you load it in IE it doesn’t handle many functions , that’s very rare :-|, my current project and experimentis going quite well so keep tuned so you can hear some good news!!
greetings!!
